(OAKLAND, CA) — Well Being Trust today announced that is has named the 19th Surgeon General of the United States, Vivek H. In addition to the Senior Fellowship, the Trust is pleased to support Dr. Murthy as he seeks to build an effort to advance Emotional Well-being of all people.
“Having worked with Dr. Murthy on multiple initiatives over the years and observing his leadership on Emotional Well-being and isolation as public health issues, we are thrilled to have his leadership to help codify the evidence base around Emotional Well-being as a precursor for healthy people and healthy communities,” said Tyler Norris, MDiv, Chief Executive, of Well Being Trust.
Over the past year, Well Being Trust has funded Dr. Murthy and team to incubate, a new non-profit agency working on what increases and what depletes personal, family and community well-being. As part of the Senior Fellowship Dr. Murthy focuses on identifying the organizational practice changes, public policy changes and private sector investments needed to assure the community conditions for intergenerational well-being.
“Making emotional health and well being a priority for our country and the world will require many partners. My special thanks to Tyler Norris and the Well Being Trust for being one of the first to join our cause,” said Dr. Murthy.
